MANUU students union elections held, Attaullah Niazi elected president

Hyderabad: “Mr Attaullah Niazi, Ph.D. scholar from Department of Commerce, has been elected as President of Maulana Azad National Urdu University Student Union today.

The polling which started at 9.00 am on September 12, continued till 1.00 pm. Prof. S. Najamul Hasan, Chief Returning Officer, said, The students as expected were enthusiastic about electing their representatives”, he said.

Mr. Niazi will be the 6th president of the University’s student body.

MANUU has the entire country as its jurisdiction.

Mr. Abdullah Asim (Dept. of MCJ, M.A), Mr. Nehal Ahmad (Dept. Of CS & IT, B.Tech.,) and Mr. Mohd. Faisal (Dept. Of MCJ, M.A.) were declared elected for the posts of Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Aliza Fathima (B.Sc.-BZC) was elected unopposed for the post of Joint Secretary. Md. Sabilur Rahman (Dept. C.S.E.) was declared elected as executive member (Polytechnic).

Besides the headquarters, polling was also held at other campuses of the University at Bengaluru, Lucknow, Bhopal, Srinagar, Darbhanga, Aurangabad, Asansol, Sambhal, Nuh and Bidar.

Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor, congratulated the newly elected office bearers and declared Wednesday as holiday for the University.

Dr Shakeel Ahmad, Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Registrar Dr. M.A. Sikandar also greeted the winners.

The investiture ceremony for winners would be conducted on September 15.
