Maoist sympathizer held with pistol, five cartridges

Hyderabad: On a tip-off, Task Force personnel today apprehended one Odela Srinivas, who was carrying one country-made pistol and five live cartridges under Kanchanbagh police limits.

According to police, Odela Srinivas, 42, auto driver, residing at Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Nagar, Santosh Nagar, Hyderabad and a native of Kondapaka village under Veenavanka mandal of Karimnagar District was a Maoist sympathizer. The accused came to Hyderabad in 2001 as a tailor. Recently he had purchased a passenger auto rickshaw and was living at Santosh Nagar. In 2012, he purchased a house and due to financial crisis he mortgaged the house for Rs ten lakh with one Ashok.

Subsequently, the accused paid interest amount to Ashok for two years and stopped paying the same due to financial problem. When he decided to sell the house through Ashok, the latter filed a case in court claiming stating that Odela Srinivas sold the property to him for Rs ten lakh. Consequently, Odela Srinivas developed grudge and decided to physically eliminate Ashok and went to Uttar Pradesh and bought a country-made pistol with five live rounds.
Today, on a tip off, Task Force East Zone Team nabbed the accused at his residence Santosh Nagar and recovered the weapon along with five cartridges from his possession. The accused was handed over to the Kanchanbagh PS.
