Marcelo Bielsa will continue if Leeds United offer an extension

Leeds: Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has dropped a hint regarding his stay with the club saying he will listen to the proposal if the club offers one.

“As you can imagine, it’s not convenient to talk about that point now. You know about this process, that’s why I’m talking about it. If the club offers me the possibility to carry on I will listen to this proposal,” Goal quoted Bielsa as saying.

Bielsa’s comments came after their 3-4 (aggregate) defeat in the Championship play-off semi-final against Derby County. After facing a 1-0 defeat, Derby County came back strikingly and overcame their first-leg deficit to register a 4-2 victory in the second-leg.

The 63-year-old also stated that they will have to accept the ‘pain’ after they missed out on Premier League but he feels that they had more chances in the first half.

“You just have to accept the pain. I feel very sad first of all for the players. I don’t think that there’s someone who feels more pain than our players. This is a responsibility that I have to assume. We are very disappointed,” he said.

“The chances of the opponent ended in goals and our’s not. It’s meaningless explaining that we had as many chances as the opponent in the second half and in the first we had more chances and should have made a difference,” Bielsa added.

Derby County will now face Aston Villa in the final on May 27.
