Marcos Alonso extends contract with Chelsea

London: Spanish footballer Marcos Alonso has signed a five-year contract extension deal with Chelsea that will keep him with the club until 2023.

Expressing happiness over the same, the 27-year-old stated that he has had some good seasons with the club and that he is now looking forward to more.

“I am so happy to stay here longer and to keep playing for one of the best teams in the world,” goal.com quoted Alonso, as saying.

“It’s been a very good two seasons and I am looking forward to more,” he added.

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia also expressed delight over the extension of players’ contract and further praised the defender for his “outstanding ability” and “fantastic attitude.”

“We are delighted to be extending Marcos’ contract. In the past two seasons he has developed into an important player for the club, demonstrating his outstanding ability and a fantastic attitude that has helped him become a Premier League champion and Spain international,” Granovskaia said.

Alonso has played a total of 92 matches for Chelsea scoring 15 goals along with 11 assists.
