New Delhi: President Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind Maulana Syed Arshad Madani strongly condemned mob lynching of Sanjay Kumar, assistant professor of the Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU).
He expressed concern saying that where would the flood of hatred drive the country to? It must be noted that a mob of 15 to 20 people attacked Sanjay Kumar at his residence in Motihari and tried to burn him alive. The horrific picture of the attack went viral.
Speaking to Inquilab an Urdu daily, Maulana Arshad Madani said whatever is happening is unfortunate and ‘I have no words to condemn the incident’. He said as long as the government doesn’t deal with such incidents with an iron hand they will not stop.
Maulana Madani also condemned the second attack on noted spiritual leader Swami Agnivesh.
It must be recalled that a mob attacked Sanjay, the assistant professor of sociology, on Friday for allegedly making a critical comment about former PM late Atal Bihar Vajpayee on his Facebook page.
