Deoband: The key petitioner in Babri Masjid case pending with Supreme Court, Maulana Hasbullah Qasmi said Maulana Syed Salman Husaini Nadwi is a respected and revered scholar and thinker, however, this mistake of him is unforgivable. He has made an initiative to change Allah’s house (masjid) into a temple of idols. He said a masjid can never be changed into a temple under any school of thought. He said there’s no better way than the judiciary. Had the Maulana any sketch in his mind he should have first taken Jamiat Ulama-e-hind and Muslim Personal Law Board in confidence. But he has taken a decision against larger interest.
Speaking to media persons Maulana Hasbullah Qasmi said he has complete faith in the judiciary. We have almost won the case. He said Supreme Court’s pronouncement that the case will not be heard on the basis of ‘aastha’, is a victory for us.
Maulana noted that even after winning the case it would be very difficult to reconstruct the Babri Masjid. But in case of a masjid, the issue is not of building but land. He said Allah is Great, we should hope for the best. And should not accept defeat feeling disappointed.
