Mayawati prefers to go solo if not given respectable seat share

Lucknow: Saying that her party was not against the alliance, BSP Chief Mayawati on Sunday made it clear that her party will ally with a political party only if they get a respectable share of seats. Otherwise, the party will not hesitate to contest the elections alone, she said.

Making her stand clear on joining an anti-BJP alliance for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Mayawati said her party would go it alone if it does not get a “respectable share” of seats. She told this while addressing a press conference at her new residence at 9, Mall Avenue.

Snubbing Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar claim that he and his “bua” (aunt) Mayawati have the “same blood”, the BSP chief said, “For some years now, I have seen that some people, for their vested political interests — some in their defence, some to show themselves as young — are forcefully trying to establish relationships, such as brother-sister or bua (aunt)-bhatija (nephew) with me.’ Indian Express quoted her.

She claimed that as per the BJP’s plans, this person who recently came out of jail… is now announcing a relation of bua, and of blood, with me.
