Medak-Akkannapet railway in 2 yrs: Harish

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said that Medak district will see rapid growth and development as it will get a new railway line in just two years. He was addressing a public meeting after laying foundation stone for a new railway lane connecting Medak and Akkannapet here at Patur village in Medak district on Saturday.

 The minister said that the long time wish of the people will be fructified including construction of a mini tank bund, Rs 50 cr to implement Mission Bhagiratha scheme to provide potable waters to every household in the district. He also said that the long cherished dream of a new railway lane will be in place in a couple of years. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is firm to develop Medak district on par with any other towns and cities in the state he said. The green drive being taken up in the district will see a significant rise in plants covering the area Harish said.We have been trying to get a new railway line between Medak to connect with Akkannapet he said adding that the efforts by the state government are getting fructified through land acquisition. The state government has acquired land for the new railway lane besides sharing half the funds towards compensation the minister stated. (NSS)
