Hyderabad: In order to quench the thirst of people, a 45-year-old auto driver, Shaik Saleem took a unique initiative. He started carrying water in an auto rickshaw to quench the thirst of residents of both Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
He provides clean, chilled drinking water to traffic policemen, bystanders, passengers, and other pedestrians.
Personal Background
He is a resident of Falaknuma. He lives in Fatima Nagar with his wife and four children. Recently, his daughter gave intermediate II year examination.
Saleem who is an auto driver is in this profession since 1991. He drives auto between 9 am and 6 pm.
Motivation behind the initiative
He got this idea three years back when he faced difficulties in finding drinking water. However, he started carrying water since last year so that no one else faces the problem what he faced for drinking water.
Deccan Chronicle quoted him as saying “The Quran says to give food and water to all the people. Whatever you distribute will come back to you in equal measure.”
To seek Allah’s pleasure, daily, he purchases two bottles each of 20 litres for Rs 30.
