Meet Haj pilgrim who returns bag containing cash, jewelry

Jeddah: A Haj pilgrim from Egypt, Lutfi Mohammed Abdul Karim returned a bag containing cash and jewelry which he found while he was looking for pebbles to perform the Rami Al-Jamrat ritual in Mina.

According to the report published in Arab News, after noticing the unattended bag, he tried to find the owner. When he could not find the owner of the bag, he opened it and found valuables and an ID card of a Nigerian woman. He then handed it over to the officials from King Salman’s Haj and Umrah Program.

It may be noted that he is a guest of the program.

Talking on this, member of the program’s Sharia Committee, Mr. Ahmed Jailan said that the pilgrim is of high moral standards. He further said that the bag would be returned to its owner.

It may be mentioned that Mr. Karim’s son who was a police officer was killed in his country.

Meanwhile, another Haj pilgrim from Palestinian, Abdullah Mohammed Sharaka expressed pleasure after he and his wife arrived Makkah as guests of King Salman’s Haj and Umrah Program. They lost a 14-year-old son who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers for throwing stones.
