Meet Kashmir’s Ayesha Aziz, the youngest pilot of India

New Delhi: Ayesha Aziz, a Kashmiri girl became the youngest pilot of India. At the age of 16, she graduated in Aviation from Bombay Flying Club and got pilot’s license in 2011.

According to the report published in IB Times, currently, she is a member of Indian Women Pilots’ Association (IWPA). She also pilots Cessna 152 and Cessna 172 aircrafts.

In January 2012, at Russia’s Sokul Airbase she flew MIG-29 fighter jet plane. She met former NASA astronaut John McBride during her Advanced Space Training Course.

She also met Indian-American Astronaut Sunitha Williams and Indian woman pilot Rabia Futehally.

It may be mentioned that she was one of the three Indians who were selected for the course. Finally, in 2017, she received commercial pilot’s license.

Her mother is from the Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir and her father is from Mumbai. Her siblings are Areeb Lokhandwala and Nadiya Mattoo.

Ayesha who is a motivation for all the girls especially Kashmiri girls has done several photoshoots for a magazine and a commercial ad.
