Meet Muslim woman who ties “rakhi” to PM Modi every year

New Delhi: Rakshabandhan is one of the important festivals that are celebrated in India. On this occasion, sisters tie “rakhi” on the wrist of their brothers. This year, Rakshabandhan will be celebrated on 26th August.

According to the report published in New Track, a Pakistani-born woman, Qamar Mohsin Shaikh has been tying Rakhi to PM Modi every year for the last 36 years.

In one of the interview, Qamar had narrated how she met PM Modi for the first time.

It is also reported on that once she met PM Modi on the day of Rakshabandhan and sought permission to tie Rakhi. Since then, Qamar has been tying Rakhi to PM Modi every year.

It may be mentioned that Pakistani-born Qamar had come to India after her marriage.
