Meet youngest IAS Officer Ansar Shaikh who proved “determination is key to success”

Maharashtra: Mr. Ansar Shaikh is the youngest IAS Officer. He had cracked UPSC Civil Services Exam 2015 and secured a rank of 371 at the age of 21. Later, he got IAS West Bengal Cadre.

It may be mentioned that earlier Mr. Roman Sanini was the youngest IAS officer who had cracked the same examination in 2013 at the age of 22.

Addressing a gathering, Mr. Ansar gave the details of the difficulties he had faced during his studies. He also spoke about his family’s financial status when he was struggling to achieve his goal.

He said that his father was an autorickshaw driver who used to earn Rs. 100-150 per day. Many times, his family used to skip dinner or breakfast.

Comparing the percentage of Muslims population in India and Muslims in Govt. services, he said that Muslims are 14% in terms of the population of India whereas, in govt. services, Muslims are 1-2%.

The reasons for the mismatch are the myths among the Muslim community.

Talking about the difficulties he had faced during his preparation for the Civil Services Exam, he said that many times, he had survived without food.

At the end of the address, he said that in order to achieve success nothing matters expect determination.
