Mehbooba Mufti reacts to Air India’s “Jai Hind” order

SRINAGAR: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti took a jibe at the new directive of Air India in which the national carrier Air India has asked all cabin and cockpit crew to say ‘Jai Hind’ after every announcement made on board.

She took to Twitter and wrote, “Little surprise that with General Elections around the corner, the josh of patriotism hasn’t even spared the skies.”

The circular issued by Air India to its crew reads “With immediate effect, all are required to announce “Jai Hind” at the end of every announcement after a slight pause and with much fervour.”

The directive issued came days after Ashwani Lohani took charge as Chairman and Managing Director of Air India once again. Interestingly, Lohani had issued such a directive earlier also in 2016 during his previous tenure as Air India CMD.
