Melbourne: Car rams into pedestrians injuring 14 people

New Delhi: A car has reportedly rammed into pedestrians in Melbourne injuring at least 14 people which were confirmed by the Victoria Police.

Though the “extent of injuries” is still unknown, according to the news agency Associated Press, 14 people were injured and also rushed to the hospital which also included a pre-school boy who suffered head injuries who is reported to be in critical condition along with another person.

The incident occurred on Flinders Street in the Australian city of Melbourne. Two men were also arrested for the causing the accident and the Police said that “at this stage, we believe it is a deliberate act.”

Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said countries thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the accident.

The Victoria Police asked the people to submit any pieces of evidence related to the accident at the Melbourne West Police Station at 313 Spencer Street or upload them at australiauploadserviceweb.cloudapp.net.

Though there is no confirmation on whether it was a terrorist attack but Police suspect ISIS is behind the attack after it had previously called to attack Christmas Markets in Europe cited the Mirror.
