Metro Rail Project: Fake job racket busted, two arrested

Hyderabad: Police arrested two cheaters who were deceiving the unemployed youths under the pretext of getting jobs for them in Hyderabad Metro Rail Project.

According to the report of Uppal Police, a woman and V. Ramakrishna, residents of Ameerpet who were the natives of Nellore District along with their companion G. Sudheer Reddy, Ch. Mahalaxmi and Bandaru Laxman Rao were cheating the candidates.

Police also reported that the kingpin of the gang is V. Ramakrishna. Earlier, he had worked as PRO. In 2017, Ramakrishna developed contacts with a widow by name Ch. Mahalaxmi and started living with her. He also came in contact with G. Sridhar Reddy, Advocate of High Court. In connivance with his brother in law, Laxman Rao who is working as Divisional Engineer in Mission Bhagirata, he claimed to get jobs for the unemployed youths in Metro Rail Project. He collected Rs. 80 lakh from 161 candidates and issued fake appointment orders.

It is alleged that Ramakrishna used to cheat the candidates by changing the SIM cards. He also used to pose himself as KVB Reddy, MD of Metro Rail Project.

Police arrested Ramakrishna and Mahalaxmi whereas Sridhar Reddy and Bandaru Laxman Rao are absconding. Police also seized a car, two mobile phones, fake appointment orders and cash worth Rs. 70000 from their possession.
