London : Microsoft has apologised for sending out an e-mail invite to “bae” interns to a party, offering “lots of dranks” and the ability to “get lit” on a Monday night.”
The email, which began with the words: “Hey Bae Intern! <3," read "Hi! I am Kim, a Microsoft University Recruiter. My crew is coming down from our HQ in Seattle to hang out with you and the crowd of bay area interns at Internapalooza on 7/11," the Telegraph reported.
It continued, "BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, we're throwing an exclusive after party the night of the event at our San Francisco office and you're invited! There will be hella noms, lots of dranks, the best beats and just like last year, we're breaking out the Yammer beer pong tables!"
This email drew a lot of criticism on social media for poorly imitating how young people speak, with one twitterer asking: "Was this written by Hillary Clinton?" and another saying, "This is maybe the most embarrassing thing I've ever read."
A Microsoft spokesperson apologised for the email, telling Gizmodo: "The email was poorly worded and not in keeping with our values as a company. We are looking into how this occurred and will take appropriate steps to address it."
Earlier too, the company had to apologise for a "teenage" AI chatbot they created, which went rogue and began praising the actions of Adolf Hitler after they let "her" loose on Twitter. (ANI)
