Militant who attacked J&K minister’s convoy arrested

Srinagar: A Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militant, who hurled a grenade at a Jammu and Kashmir minister’s cavalcade last month, was arrested from the state’s Pulwama district on Friday, police said.

Gulzar Ahmad Dar was arrested by the security forces in Tral town of Pulwama district.

“A Chinese pistol, a magazine and some rounds were recovered from the possession of the arrested militant,” a police officer said.

Dar had hurled a grenade at the cavalcade of Roads and Buildings Minister Naeem Akhtar in Tral town on September 21, killing three civillians and injuring over a dozen others.
