MIM, BJP playing vote-bank politics, say kin of arrested Hyderabadi youths

Hyderabad: At a time when Asaduddin Owaisi, chief of the All India Majlis e Ittahadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) created a flutter by offering to provide legal aid to arrested alleged IS operatives in Hyderabad , the family members of arrested Ibrahim Yazdani and Ilyas Yazdani accused AIMIM and other political parties of taking undue advantage and playing vote-bank politics by using the National Investigation Agency (NIA) ‘false case’ against them.

This allegation was made by Yadzani family members while seeking Rs 1 crore compensation in a petition moved in State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) few days ago, saying that their realtives were framed in a false case by National Investigation Agency (NIA) at the behest of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led central government eyeing the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections.

Each and every political party across the country, including MIM of Hyderabad are taking undue advantage of this false case of NIA, playing vote bank politics, polarising the votes in the name of religion, brutally hurting the feelings of Muslims living in the country, made all the Muslims in the country scape-goat, for their political cause during Ramadhan (sic),” Yadanis’ family members Nadera and Mohammed Ishaq Yazdani said in the petition.

They made NIA, Ministry of Home Affairs, Telangana DGP, Principal Secretary (Home) Telangana Government as parties responsible for framing their kith in false cases and for violating various sections of Human Rights and demanded Rs 1 crore compensation for each each.

Speaking to TOI, a brother of the arrested Yazdanis claimed that NIA officials are putting pressure by making repeated calls to their family members to come to visit NIA office and convince the arrested Yazdanis to give full confession in the case. NIA officials also asked us to bring our brother’s child along with us. But we did not go though they said that by convincing a confession, punishment can be cut down. We believe that my brothers are innocent so we did not oblige their telephone calls ,” Yazdanis’ Advocate Mohammed Abdullah Khan and the duo’s brother said.

Few days ago, couple of youngsters alleged that NIA has been putting pressure to sign of few papers and make them witnesses.

The family members said that all the accused are being targeted by security agency because they are Salafi Muslims”.

Except for the fact that all the accused go to the same masjid, Markazi Kutub Khana Mohammedia Masjid Ahl-e- Hadees in BiBi Bazar cross roads, they do not know each other,” the family members informed SHRC. The SHRC issued notices to respective parties in the petition and the next hearing was posted to Sept 1.
