BJP floor leader in Telangana Assembly and MLA Dr K. Lakshman has said the ruling TRS party was dreaming of sweeping GHMC elections without the people in Hyderabad supporting it and by deleting 6.3 lakh names from from the voters list in the GHMC limits.
Speaking to media persons at a Meet-the-Press program organized by the Telangana Working Journalists ‘ Federation (TWJF) and Hyderabad Union of Journalists (HUJ) here on Thursday, Dr Lakshman said that BJP was the only party that would protect rights of the citizens as well as Indian culture and tradition. Accusing the Congress and TRS parties of encouraging corrupt activities in Telangana State, the BJP alleged that the MIM was a corrupt party. He said the BJP will fight for implementation of election promises made by the TRS and Congress. He also alleged that the TRS was supporting the MIM for winning the GHMC elections. Dr Lakshman said the MIM was not developing the old city and making the life of the citizens miserable as they were facing problems for basic needs like water, health, education, safety and so on. He also alleged the Sate ministers were not visiting the old city for 18 months. The BJP-TDP combine has formulated a vision plan for development Hyderabad on par with other metropolitan cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
Dr Lakshman demanded that the ruling party implement Paris Agreement to curb pollution in the twin cities as the people in 85 Urban Health Centers were facing health problems due to lack of basic infrastructure facilities and staff. While the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre was committed to develop Hyderabad into a global investment destination in IT, pharmaceuticals, tourism and other sectors, the TRS Ministers were blaming Prime Minster Narendra Modi for criticism sake. He asserted that Narendra Modi has given equal priority to all States for development. He also disclosed that the Prime Minister would visit Telangana State in February to launch development activities. He also assured the journalists that he would fight with the State government in Assembly for their health cards, accreditations, flats, houses and other issues.
