MIM responsible for stopping metro rail project in Old City: Shabbir

Hyderabad: Congress leader of opposition in TS Legislative Council, Mr. Mohammed Ali Shabbir declared that MIM is responsible for stopping metro rail project in Old City. He was addressing a press conference. He said that during YSR regime, he was minister incharge for Hyderabad. The plan for 72 km long metro rail project was finalized during that period. Mr. KCR wasted four years in the name of reviewing the plan and during this period the expenditure increased by Rs. 4000 crore. MIM objected for the project but it could not propose an alternate plan.

Due to all these mistakes, metro rail project could not be started in the old city. MIM takes credit for all the Govt. schemes but in this case it failed to do so. Mr. Shabbir further told that TRS and MIM both are responsible for sabotaging metro rail project in the old city.

Telangana Congress leaders reviewed the metro rail construction works in Koti, Chadarghat and Ladikapul. Present in the meeting were State Congress President, Capt. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Opposition Leader of Congress in Assembly, K. Jana Reddy, Opposition Leader of Congress in Council, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, former Minister, S. Satyanarayana, former MP, Mr. V. Hanumanth Rao, former Minister D. Nagender, former MP, Mr. Anjan Kumar Yadav and others.
