Minister felicitates TSWREIS toppers

Minister for Scheduled Castes Development Department G. Jagadish Reddy today felicitated the toppers of NEET, IIT-JEE, CA-CPT and CLAT at the Secretariat.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the TSWREIS has been playing a pivotal role in building “Bangaru Telangana” by providing quality education to the children of marginalized section and winning confidence of parents. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s support to the government residential schools in the State was unparalleled in the history of education sector and the entire country was looking at the Telangana government’s model of residential educational system.

           

The minister said some 200 students of the TSWREIS secured admission in the premier academic institutions in the country and abroad in 2017. Anand of  the TSWREIS has been selected for the prestigious Harvard University’s Summer Crossroads program. He congratulated the students for continuing their successful trend in Medicine, IITs, NITs, TISS and Central Universities for the last three years. He said 72 students of Operation Blue Crystal program are likely to join Medicine this year. 

           

For the first time in the history of the TSWREIS, 12 students secured admission in the prestigious Delhi University and one in Vishva-Bharathi University, West Bengal. Probably, Sandhya Rani is the first Telugu student to join the Vishva-Bharathi University in the last 30 years.        The Minister also congratulated TSWREIS Secretary Dr R S Praveen Kumar for his hard work and dedication in carrying forward the Chief Minister’s vision of providing quality education and opportunities for the most disadvantaged children under the KG-PG Education. He appreciated the efforts put in by the teaching and non-teaching staff in preparing the students to face the global challenges and providing education on par with the corporate educational institutions in the State.

            Speaking on the occasion, Dr RS Praveen Kumar thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, G. Jagadish Reddy and Special Chief Secretary Ajay Mishra for their encouragement and support. (NSS)
