On Friday, a 16-year-old boy was lynched over an affair with his classmate. According to the report, the boy lived in Kormi village, neighbouring Chatra district and studied in a school at Chouparan.
The police said, “the boy was lynched by the family members of the girl by confining him at a house in Kashiket village under Chouparan PS. They beat him with lathis.”
Police rescued the boy from Kashiket and took him to Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital. Later he was reffered to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi, where he succumbed on Saturday.
Police arrested the girl’s brother and two of her women relatives in this connection. Raids were on to nab others including the girl’s father, the police officer said.
