Minority status of AMU and JMI will be removed: Union Minister

New Delhi: Modi government which gives the slogan of ‘sab ka saath, sab ka vikaas’, has once again made an attack on the minority status of Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia Millia Islamia and has announced that it will try to remove their minority status through court before 2019.

Speaking to media, Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot said the Human Resource Development Ministry and the entire Narendra Modi government deem Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University as central universities, we don’t deem them minority institutions. He said they will soon approach court asking to remove minority status. He said that the Narendra Modi government was trying to restore the reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) in Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

It must be noted that Dalits are launching a movement against Modi government in the entire country which is giving sleepless nights to the government. Hence the government is trying to divert people’s attention towards Muslims.

It must be noted that the case regarding minority status of JMI and AMU is pending with the Supreme Court.
