Miyapur Land Scam: Hasty decision of officials lands Govt. in trouble, HC issues stay order

Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana has to face the music for the hasty decision taken by its higher officials.

It may be mentioned that the illegal registration of 810 acre land located at Miyapur in favour or private parties might land the government into trouble.

Recently, Telangana High Court issued stay orders in this case. Instead of concentrating on real issues, Govt. resorted to shortcut methods with a hope that it would come out of the scam successfully.

As per the details of the case, Miyapur land scam is worth Rs. 15000 crore. It came to limelight in May 2017. It is reported that some TRS leaders and close confidants of CM are allegedly involved in it. It is alleged that Govt. lands were purchased through private parties.

Initially, Government remained silent for a month. Later, when the news of involvement of Dr. Keshav Rao, General Secretary of TRS and former MP, his daughter and KCR’s close confidant, Mr. D. Damodhar Rao was exposed in June 2017, KCR convened a meeting with Revenue and Police Officials and declared that no scam has taken place and not a single yard of Government land was given to anyone.

Mr. KCR had further told that the land under dispute for which private persons are claiming is under the possession of the Government. Without going into the details, Government declared to cancel registration of the land for which no legal procedure was followed.

Govt. overlooked the fact that registration documents cannot be nullified in this manner since they have legal status.

As a result of this hasty decision, the matter reached the High Court wherein the cancellation of registration was challenged. The legal heirs of the late Nizam of Hyderabad and the members of Paigah Family made their claim on this land.

Meanwhile, Telangana High Court issued stay order to maintain status quo till the matter is finally decided by the court.
