Mobile Dental services to villages: Lakshma Reddy

Mobile Dental health services will be extended to villages to cater to the dental health needs of people by conducting health camps for awareness, Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy today said.

The minister launched Mobile Dental Services vans under the guidance of Osmania Medical College as part of Social Dental Services program here by flagging off the vans at Peoples Plaza on the Necklace Road here. The vehicles comprise two operation theaters and an in-built AC facility. He inspected the vehicles and conducted a dental check up to a medical student

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said health services will be provided through dental health checkup, x-ray machines and distribute medicines to people in a significant manner. The rural people used to avoid health check-ups and the health camps will help them, he said. In the past, cancer symptoms were found through previous screening tests and now health camps will help address dental problems, he said, adding improved health services with dental care will be offered now at villages and doorsteps of the people.

Laxma Reddy said the dental students have no vehicle for about 59 years and now the government has provided them with needed vehicles to medical and dental students separately. First of its kind in the country, the government has pressed into service mobile vans, bike ambulances, winged vehicles and vaccination vehicles as part of Healthy Telangana.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has focused on health and medical care by providing adequate funds and agreed to give more funds in the next budget for health sector. He also said the officials were directed to prepare plans for budgetary allocations. With initiative of KCR, the entire picture of the health sector has been changed to cater to needs of the people.
