Model Code of Conduct violation case: UP Dy. CM gets bail

Lucknow: The court granted bail to Mr. Keshav Prasad Maurya, Dy. CM of Uttar Pradesh. The bail was granted hours after his surrender.

According to the report published in Hindustan Times, he had surrendered before the Prayagraj Court in two cases of Model Code of Conduct violation and Durga Puja Pandal Committee dispute.

It may be mentioned that the fast-track court is hearing these cases.

Earlier, the judge had issued a non-bailable warrant against the Dy. CM.

Lawyer of Mr. Keshav Prasad Maurya alleged that these cases are false and politically motivated.

It may be noted that Mr. Keshav Prasad Maurya had won MP seat from Phulpur constituency in 2014. After BJP winning elections in UP State, he was appointed as Dy.CM of the State.
