Modi likely to announce HC split on Aug 7

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today felicitated Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley when he called on him at camp office here followed by hosting a lunch on Sunday after inaugurating formally the SIU at Mamidipally near Kothur. KCR offered a red shawl and presented Jaitley with an enticing showpiece of Pelican enveloped in a glass frame. Jaitley promised is understood to have given clarity to KCR that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Telangana on Aug 7is expected to give clarity of splitting the HC.

Jaitely is understood to have given clarity on the HC split when KCR took up the state issues prominently on the need for immediate bifurcation of apex court among Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Citing his recent Delhi trip and bringing it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s notice and got an assurance, he touched upon up the issue of HC split which is pending for two years after the state formation.

He reportedly mentioned about necessary arrangements being made for Modi’s visit to the state to launch Mission Bhagiratha program to supply potable waters to the people at their houses on Aug 7. KCR also sought Jaitley’s help for funding for the flagship programs of Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, on- going Haritha Haram program to extend green cover to 33 per cent and present year target of planting 46 cr saplings. The Chief Minister sought release of arrears to the state under various heads and offered to give land to AP Government to set up a new high court in Hyderabad until it builds its own HC in the state.
