Modi is Ram, Amit Shah is Lakshman and Yogi is Hanuman: Says UP BJP lawmaker

Ballia, UP: Primarily known for making controversial remarks, Bharatiya Janata Party lawmaker Surendra Singh on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a reincarnation of Lord Ram. The UP lawmaker further added that he feels that party president Amit Shah is sent by gods as Lord Ram’s brother Lakshman. He also called UP chief minister ‘Hanuman’.

“And see the coincidence that as Brahmachari Hanuman, Yogiji has also come,” Singh said. “This team of Ram, Lakshman and Hanuman will realise the dream of Ram Rajya in Bharat and Ram Rajya will be established in national politics,” he told journalists in Ballia as per a report by NDTV.

However, this is not the first time that Singh has made such comments. The BJP MLA from Bairia had last month called Mamata Banerjee West Bengal’s “Surpanakha”, the evil sister of “Ravan” in Ramayan, and claimed that Bengal could turn into Jammu and Kashmir from where Hindus would have to migrate.

Earlier this month, Singh had held parents responsible for the increasing incidents of rape and said that they should not let their children roam around freely. “I am speaking from the psychological point of view; no one can rape a mother of three children. It is not possible, this is a conspiracy against him (Kuldeep Singh Sengar),” Surendra Singh had said, according to a video clip put out by ANI.

In another incident, the Bairia MLA while addressing a gathering stated that in the 2019 general elections, Islam will compete against God.

“2019 ka chunav, Islam banam Bhagwaan hone jaa raha hai”, said Singh. He also added that the opposition party is anti-nationalist.
