Modi-Shivraj tiles to be part of home decor under PM Yojana homes in MP

Bhopal: Tiles with pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to be placed in the kitchens across 2.86 lakh houses that are to be built in Madhya Pradesh under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

According to the sources, one tile each of dimension 45x60cm will be installed at entrances and kitchen of every house, TOI quoted the sources. The tile will also have a PMAY logo with the caption ‘Sabka Sapna, Ghar Ho Apna’.

The urban administration department (UAD) has sent a design sample to each district ensuring that the design matches with it and ordered all commissioners and chief executive officers of civic bodies in MP to ensure that houses under PMAY have pictures of the two leaders.

The Centre is contributing around Rs 5,000 crore for building 2.86 lakh houses in the state. When UAD additional commissioner Manju Sharma, asked about the motive of installing the tiles, she said: “Civic bodies have been asked to fix tiles so that people should know under which scheme their houses were built.”

Asked upon whose orders these tiles are being used, Sharma said, “It was a decision taken at a higher level”.
