Modi won elections by telling lies: Revanth Reddy

Alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has won elections in Gujarat by telling lies during electioneering, Congress leader A Revanth Reddy said Modi’s nominee lost election in his own constituency.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Revanth Reddy said he was congratulating the Gujarat Congress leaders, who fought against Modi. “Though the BJP has won the elections technically, morally the Congress won the polls in Gujarat”, he claimed. Pointing out that the BJP had deployed Modi, Amit Shah and 182 leaders to face AICC chief Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy questioned the Prime Minister Modi as to why he did not initiate action against the Congress if it hatched a conspiracy to kill him. He alleged that Narendra Modi was lowering the image of the country by using caste, religion and Pakistan in the election campaign.

Revanth Reddy said while AB Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Adwani were leaders of high values, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah were resorting to cheap politics, he said. Stating that the BJP was daydreaming to achieve “something” in Telangana State, Revanth asked social forces to unite like in Gujarat. “The BJP poll percentage in Gujarat declined from 60 percent to 49 percent and lost in 66 constituencies, the Congress improved its strength by capturing 80 seats though it was away from power for 22 years”, he added.
