Mohammed Azharuddin likely to join TRS

Mohammad Azharuddin who is the former Indian Cricket team captain and a very old member of the party is likely to resign from Congress and join Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS).

According to sources, He is unhappy with the party for neglecting minority leaders particularly those from the Muslim community and is thinking of resigning from the party.

According to the report published in The Hans India, sources close to Azharuddin said that the former cricketer is looking at TRS as he is upset with the Congress leaders in the state who are not able to utilise his services for furthering party’s interests.

He has been with the Congress party for a long time and was an MP from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh in 2009. He lost the last elections from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan. Earlier he had also expressed his interest in contesting from Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency.

AICC minority department national coordinator, who joined TRS on Friday Khaleequr Rehman, “I want the TRS to strengthen because of its works and everyone, including Azharuddin would also appreciate good works of the government. I would invite Azharuddin to join TRS. We will try to bring him into TRS. This is a teaser, the full-length movie is yet to come.”
