Monsoon session of Parliament: 12% reservation is not on the agenda of TRS

Hyderabad: Monsoon session of the Parliament has begun but TRS has not included the issue of 12% reservation for Muslims on its agenda.

It may be mentioned that KCR had declared earlier that TRS would muster the support of other parties to stage a protest on the issues of reservation for the Muslims.

In the last session of the Parliament, the protest did not yield success but the central government got an opportunity to set aside ‘No-Confidence Motion’. Now, that the Parliament is in session, TRS should clarify its status on reservations.

CM had also announced that the dharna program would be staged at Jantar Mantar and Supreme Court would be approached. All these promises have not been translated into reality. TRS is more concerned about its success in the next elections than reservations. It has, therefore, concentrated on the welfare schemes for farmers. Mr. KCR has not issued any instructions to TRS MPs about reservation issue. It remains to be seen how serious TRS would be in presenting these issues in Parliament. Candidates belonging to Minority communities of TRS are tightlipped. They are of the opinion that due to legal hurdles, implementation of reservation may not be possible. KCR failed to fulfil his election promise in the past four years and hopes to muster the support of the Muslims in the next elections by renewing his promise.
