Andhra Pradesh government has begun monthly honourarium scheme for Imams and Muezzins under which Rs. 5000 will be paid to Imams and Rs. 3000 will be paid to Muezzins of 2500 masajid. It must be noted that Telangana government has announced honourarium of Rs. 1000 each to 5000 Imams and Muezzins of Telangana.
Andhra Pradesh government has released Rs. 5 Cr for Iftar in masajid during Ramadan, whitewashing and renovation of masajid.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has also decided to give Ramadan package to Muslims to mark the Holy month of Ramadan. Director Minority Welfare Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal and Chief Executive Officer Waqf Board L Abdul Quader are taking measures to implement the schemes thorough consultation with all district collectors.
