Hyderabad: Despite several attempts for the eradication of irregularities and corruption, there seems to be no positive result. A few days back, Govt. had locked the record room of Wakf Board after getting several complaints. Later, an officer of IPS cadre was posted as CEO but the irregularities are still continuing.
Mr. Mohammed Saleem, Chairman of Wakf Board convened a meeting of Wakf Inspectors and Collectors yesterday. Mr. Shahnawaz Qasim, IPS, CEO of Wakf Board and other officials were also present in the meeting.
In the said meeting, two important revelations were made. The one is that some Wakf Inspectors declared wakf properties as non-wakf properties and issued NOCs. The other irregularity was that there are three employees of Wakf Board who are receiving salaries without working. After this exposure, Chairman and CEO decided to suspend the Wakf Inspectors who issued fake NOCs and also the employees who are receiving salaries without working.
Talking to newsmen after the meeting, Mr. Mohammed Saleem told that Wakf Board has no right to declare wakf properties as non-wakf properties. This authority rests with Wakf Tribunal.
It was reported that there are three Wakf Inspectors who issued fake NOCs. There are other three employees who are sitting at home and getting salaries. All these employees will be suspended after verifying the records.
All the Wakf Inspectors have been instructed to furnish the details of the rents collected before 30th November.
