Mothers who have sons are 79 percent more likely to suffer from this disease

After giving a birth to a young one, Depression is one of the mental health condition affecting a lot of women after childbirth. Research suggests that mothers who give birth to boys are 79 per cent more likely to suffer from postnatal depression.

According to a report published in DC, this is due to the increasing levels of inflammation in the immune system caused by having a son which may change chemical balances in the brain, shows the findings.

Postnatal depression affects almost one in every 10 women triggering feelings of sadness and tiredness. It also suggested that women who face difficulties or complications during childbirth are three times more likely to suffer from the condition.
