Hyderabad: MA&UD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar has directed Heritage Director Visalatchy to identify heritage structures in the GHMC area and come up with an action plan for restoration and taking up repairs. He said fencing of the structure, cleaning and lighting should be taken up immediately.

Arvind Kumar took stock of various restoration works being undertaken by the Heritage department at the Secretariat today. The meeting is a follow-up of the meeting held with the Chief Secretary last month wherein the issue of setting up Heritage Fund and identifying heritage structures in the State for restoration and taking up repairs was discussed. He said steps will be taken to restore the Heritage structures i.e. Deval Masjid in Bodhan, Khila Ramalayam in Nizamabad, Ram temple in Dichpally, Jagtial Fort and Jain temples at Kolanupaka to past glory.

The Principal Secretary said he would personally visit these places shortly. He also asked the GHMC officials to provide a status note on all clock towers in the city, including ownership details and repairs to be taken up to restore these clocks.
