MP: Kamal Nath’s viral video of Muslim delegation helped bag votes for Congress

Muslim lynching, minor rapes, cow vigilantism that has increased over the past few years during NDA regime has instilled fear among Minority communities across the nation, landing saffron party in troubled waters this General Elections.

It may be recalled recently in November a video of state Congress president Kamal Nath addressing a small delegation of the Muslim community was made viral on the internet while creating a huge fuss about its content, that the saffron patty’s national vice-president Prabhat Jha even approached the Election Commission to take action against Nath.

In the video, he was heard saying: “Today if 90% of Muslims don’t vote, then it would be a major loss for us.”

Addressing the delegation of minority community members, Nath had said, “What percentage of voting takes place? My appeal to you is to look at the past records. It can be found all over the internet. Check out what has been the voting percentage in Muslim booths and if it has been 50% to 60%, then why 60%? Why not 90%? The post-mortem of past election is very necessary.”

After the video went viral on the internet, Jha held a press conference and argued that Nath was only trying to instigate riots, disrupt communal harmony in the region before the Assembly elections, TOI reports.

While BJP made all the false allegations against Nath, Congress defended him by saying he had only asked people to vote.

The strategy behind making the video viral was that it would work in support of BJP uniting Hindus against Congress party leaders.
