Khandwa: Still restrictions exist on the worship of “Shiva lingam” at Omkareshwar Temple located in Khandwa. This restriction is imposed as administration believes that “Shiva lingam” is getting affected since 2007.
It is reported that water and other worship materials which are kept on “Shiva lingam” are harming it. Due to this, pilgrims are compelled to return without worshipping.
It is said that it is compulsory to pour water on “Shiva lingam” 24/7 and worship it. Because of this priest is angry. “Administration should find another way to save Shiva lingam”, worshipers demanded.
Now, the priest of Omkareshwar has threatened to embrace Islam as the administration is allegedly ignoring their demands for the past several years.
It may be mentioned that they are adamant on the demands.
