MP: Stray dog saves woman from molestor

Bhopal: A 29-year-old woman was rescued by a stray dog when a man allegedly broke into her house and molested her.

The incident happened on Sunday afternoon in Chhola area where the accused in inebriated state intruded the victim’s house around 3 pm, TOI reports.

According to reports, the stray dog was lying in a corner of a room in which the woman was resting when the incident happened.

The stray dog ‘Sheru’ attacked the accused when he heard the woman’s cry for help when she was being molested.

The dog’s attack scared the man but he was stabbed with a knife in the process.

The accused reported fled after stabbing the dog.

The Chhola Police registered a case against the accused and started probe.

SHO Chhola Radheyshyam Raigar said the complainant and her husband reside in a residential Colony in Chhola area and that the accused Sunil a resident in the neighborhood molested her.

“A stray dog lives in the street where her house is located and is fed regularly,” said the SHO.

The official said the accused Sunil knocked the victim’s door and forced himself inside the house when she opened the door to check.

He grabbed her started hurling abuses at the victim when she resisted.

The dog was attacked with a knife when he pounced at the accused to save the victim.
