MRPS plans ‘Tirugubatu Mahasabha’ at Amaravathi on April 2

MRPS founder-president Manda Krishna Madiga has announced he would organise ‘Tirugubatu Mahasabha’ at Amaravathi on April 2. He said the MRPS will organize two-phase campaign across Andhra Pradesh to make the event a success.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, Krishna Madiga said the first phase of the campaign would be launched on February 25 from Tirupati under the leadership of Usurupati Brahmaiah Madiga. The second phase will begin from March 21 from Chittoor and conclude on April 1. The Tirugubatu Mahasabha will be conducted with 10 lakh people on April 2, he added.

The MRPS chief demanded that Andhra Pradesh BJP leaders convince Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah to introduce Categorization of SCs Bill in Parliament. He also claimed that the MRPS movement was going on for the past 24 years. He said a bandh call will be given in March and the date will be announced on February 21.

He said he will meet leaders of all the political parties today and tomorrow to seek their support to the proposed bandh. He said he would seek support of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for the proposed bandh and addressed a letter today for the Chief Minister’s appointment. He said he would urge KCR to mount pressure on the Centre to table SCs Categorisation Bill in Lok Sabha.

He said he will seek support of students, business men, commercial establishments and employees’ unions to make the bandh a huge success. The bandh preparatory meetings would be held in the city from February 23. The preparatory meetings at district head quarters would be conducted two days before the bandh and with all-party meeting would be conducted one day before the bandh”, he said.
He also asked Telangana State BJP chief Dr K Laxman and Andhra Pradesh State BJP president Haribabu to mount pressure on Prime Minister Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah with regard to SCs Categorization Bill. (NSS)
