Muhammad Hafeez undergoes bowling action test

Karachi [Pakistan]: Pakistan’s off-spinner Muhammad Hafeez has undergone a biomechanics test in England for his suspected bowling action in the recently concluded one-day series with Sri Lanka.

Hafeez will know whether he can bowl further or be suspended again after the test results, which is likely to arrive in two weeks.

As reported in Geo News, the 37-year-old, according to ICC rules, underwent independent tests at England’s Loughborough University labs, where he was asked to bowl 24 deliveries in the test which lasted for more than 90 minutes.

The Paksitani all-rounder, however, seemed quite confident that he will come clean after the test results.

Hafeez, before the test, took to Twitter to say, “Going to UK for Test of my bowling action , IN SHAA ALLAH M very confident to get clear this test, as I m bowling with same remodelled bowling action since I got cleared by ICC , keep me in ur prayers & all wil be FINE , AAMEEN.”

Hafeez has already been suspended twice, earlier in July, 2015 and in December, 2014.

The right-handed batsman had only resumed bowling again last December after completing a year ban and reassessment of his bowling action at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane. (ANI)
