Mumbai: Rape victim for a year, 16yr old reveals names of 15 boys

Mumbai: Andheri Police took action arresting 15 boys accused of raping and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old for the past one year.

The year long rape torture came to an end after the victim spoke about it to his friend two days ago after feeling ‘unbearable pain’ since the last assault on June 26.

The victim alleged that he was sexually abused and raped for the past one year and named the 15 boys in his complaint. He also revealed that he was physically abused and blackmailed.

The Police has booked the 15 accused in the complaint and detained 7 of them. The medical examination of the victim confirmed sexual assault.

The victim was first raped in 2016 by his friend who was his neighbor. The rapist allegedly shot the video and shared it among his other friends said the Police. The rapist later started blackmailing the victim and threatened to make the video viral if he denies to listen to him.

“The victim was very scared and did not tell his family about the abuse,” said the officer.
The officer added, “The accused boys took the victim to a playground outside a municipal school in the area and raped him one by one”.

The accused have been demanding money from the victim for the past two months. On failing to fulfill their demand of Rs 1,100 for eating at a restaurant, the victim was raped again on June 26.

“After that, the boys took him to an isolated corner on June 26 and raped him once more,” said the police officer.
The victim in his complaint alleged that he was raped four times by the accused during the past one year.

“Whenever I tried to resist, they would hit me” said the boy in his complaint.

Unable to bear the pain after the last assault, the victim told his friend who informed one of his known person who works as a construction site supervisor.

The 31-year-old man later took the victim to Police Station to register his case. The Police have booked all the 15 accused aged between 15 and 17 under IPC and charged them with unnatural sex and common intention under the IPC and also under various relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

The victim’s medical examination confirmed sexual assault. He was sent to Cooper Hospital for medical examination.

Rashmi Karandikar DCP(Operations) Mumbai, said the verification of the accused names, addresses and the investigation in the case are being carried out.

Seven among the 15 accused were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, which remanded them to Dhongri Children Home’s custody.
