Mumbai: Nearly a year after a minor three-year-old student was allegedly raped, the Mumbai Police has now arrested the Trustee of the school for the horrendous crime.
The Trustee Patrick Brilliant is an Indian-origin French national of a reputed international school has now been arrested by the MIDC police for allegedly raping the school’s four-year-old student.
The accused has been charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act is now sent to 14-days police custody.
The incident has happened in the month of January but was registered in May 2017. The mother of the victim approached the Police to file a case against the schools Trustee for sexually assaulting the child on the school premises.
The Bombay High Court intervened in the matter and directed the police to expedite proceedings in the case when the case was about to be closed.
A case against the school teacher was also filed for allegedly taking the child during the breaks to the Trustee’s room.
The victim’s mother filed the complaint after she found marks on her private parts.
According to the report, the child victim had reportedly confided in her mother that a “boy teacher” had touched her inappropriately. She later identified her perpetrator on the school’s website.
An FIR was registered against the 57-year-old Trustee who is also alleged to molest another three-year-old boy student.
