Muslim bodies demand probe into Rakhine human tragedy

Hyderabad: An All-party meeting was held by Jamat Ulama Hind Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, at Madina Education Centre Nampally, to denounce violence and brutality against Rohingya Muslims. Maulana Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed presided over the meeting.

A large number of scholars belonging to religious organisations and madrasas attended the meeting. A resolution was passed in the meeting demanding immediate probe on international level into the Rakhine human tragedy. The resolution stated that depriving Rohingya Muslims of citizenship rights is serious violation of international human rights charter.

The leaders also requested Indian government to continue its age-old tradition of compassion towards the oppressed and show broadmindedness like developed countries in this connection.

Representatives of Jamat-e-Islami Hind, Majlis Ulama-e- Deccan, All Indian Majlis Tameer-e-Millat, Tahaffuz Khatm-e-Nabuwat, Safa Baitul Maal, Amarat Millat Islamia and other organisations attended the meeting.
