Begusarai: A man fell unconscious and landed in the hospital after miscreants brutally assaulted him. This incident took place in Begusarai.
According to the report published in The Citizen, the victim is identified as Mohammad Istekhar Alam (48).
On Saturday, after doing good business by selling clothes for children, he bought meat to celebrate as his daughter’s marriage was fixed.
On his way back home, some miscreant tried to stop his bicycle. Sensing threat, he increased the speed of his bicycle. However, miscreants succeeded in chasing him. Then they assaulted him until he fell unconscious. They also took away Rs. 15-16 thousand from his possession.
Later, Istekhar was admitted to hospital. He is not in a condition to speak.
It may be mentioned that he belongs to a poor family with no land. They depend on Istekhar’s earnings.
Talking to newsmen, his brother, Mohammed Mumtaz Alam said that the intention of the miscreants was to rob Istekhar.
He further said that as they are the supporters of Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar, they were receiving threats over the days of campaign.
However, Istekhar who has four children used to stay away from politics. He used to focus on his small business of selling clothes for kids.
The family was struggling hard to survive. After the incident, the family which was about to start preparation for the marriage of the daughter have gathered in the hospital.
It is alleged that the accused persons belong to the neigbouring village.
Surprisingly, instead of arresting the accused persons, a case of carrying beef was registered against Istekhar.
