Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today reiterated that the State government was committed to provide proportionate reservations to Muslim Minorities on the lines of Tamil Nadu and vowed to offer the reservations to Scheduled Tribes as per their population complying with the Constitution. Raja Chellappa Commission on STs and Sudhir Commission on Minorities which studied on the social and financial status of the Minorities and STs submitted related reports to KCR at camp office on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister noted that the State government will hold a special Assembly session to pass the Muslim Reservation Bill to provide education and job opportunities to the Minorities. A Cabinet committee will soon meet in this regard to take a call and also to take all development measures for the Minorities and Scheduled Tribes in the State, he said.
The Constitution encompasses that the STs should get reservations as per their population and the State government will take necessary steps, the CM reiterated. The STs and Muslims were neglected by the previous governments and the TRS Government will do justice, he said. The TRS Government will initiate measures after going through the reports submitted by Chellappa and Sudhir commissions, he stated.
