Muslims ask tough questions to Congress before 2019 election

New Delhi: By conducting meetings with Muslim intellectuals, professors, former officers and representatives of Muslim organisations, Congress is seeking advice for preparing manifesto for 2019 general elections. They are facing tough questions from Muslims. After visiting Delhi, the election manifesto team of Congress which has now reached Jaipur, Rajasthan faced tough questions from Muslims.

Ex-union minister and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid along with the Congress manifesto committee conducted a meeting with prominent Muslim leaders in Jaipur. Nearly 150 Muslim representatives attended the meeting. According to reliable sources, several key questions related to the community were raised during the meeting.

The first and important question that was asked was… why Muslims were not given proper representation in the newly formed Congress government in Rajasthan? Why only one Muslim was made a minister? Representatives of Muslims told Congress manifesto committee that Congress doesn’t fulfil its promises.

It was also asked why there is a difference between Telangana Congress and Rajasthan Congress? While the Telangana Congress talks of Muslim reservation, Rajasthan Congress doesn’t.
