Ganderbal: A Kashmiri Pandit who expired at lar in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District.
As per reports hundreds of Muslims from lar and its adjacent areas participated in performing last religious rites of the deceased and depicting message of communal harmony and brotherhood and all the arrangements for the last rites were made by their Muslim neighbours.
Its pertinent to mention that these rare occasions are strong messages to the fanatic elements who want to disturb peace in Kashmir.
Kashmir has always been peaceful and known for Kashmiriyat. Some elderly people while talking to our Correspondent said, “we equally mourn death of Kashmiri pandit Rupa (Bhabi) wife of Somnath resident of lar Ganderbal. We have been living together for centuries.”
Ganderbal Journalist Association (GJA) have also expressed the sympathies with the family of the deceased.
