Naidu asks TDP MPs to get ready for a battle with Centre

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday asked TDP MPs to get ready to fight a battle against the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre.

Addressing the TDP Parliamentary Party meeting at Amravathi, Naidu alleged that the Central Government has done injustice with Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget which has disappointed not only the TDP leaders, but also the people of AP. He reportedly asked his party MPs to pressurise the Centre for release of adequate funds for various projects of AP Government. Sources say that Naidu has even asked the TDP MPs to stall proceedings of Parliament, if needed to press for their demand.

Meanwhile, BJP National President Amit Shah reported contacted Chandrababu Naidu on phone and advised him against taking any hasty decision. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh too tried to approach Naidu thrice. However, he could not speak to the TDP President as he was busy in the Parliamentary party meeting. Later, Naidu called up Singh and conveyed that his party was upset with the budget. Singh reportedly assured that he would speak to Prime Minister Narender Modi on the issue and get it resolved.

Briefing the media persons after the meeting, Union Minister Sujana Chowdary said that the TDP has decided to raise the issue of injustice with AP in Union budget in the Parliament. He said that the TDP MPs would demand a special package for AP, new railway zone and funds for Polavaram project. (INN)
